Kicking off the New Year: a tour of the Black Cultural Archives

For many, January is a gloomy month - less than ideal weather and not much to do. So we kicked off the New Year in style by heading to the Black Cultural Archives in south London. We invited young people and their families to join us as we explored the "Transforming Legacies" exhibition, showcasing a range of Black British artists.

We were delighted to welcome those who battled through the rain to attend! The exhibition offered lots of content - from paintings to more recent videos about cultural changes over time.

We also hosted a writing competition where young people shared what they had learnt from the competition.

"I liked the biggest picture in room two, I liked the detail and the background in the picture." - Kalifa (student)

The event was made possible by our wonderful Social & Fundraising team. Huge thanks to Isabella, Elodie and Lynette for the planning and coordination, and Kate who was a great support on the day.

"Today was another good day. Well worth the trip and the young people seemed to really enjoy it." - Lynette (Trustee)
